Job: Senior Systems Administrator Job Summary: The Senior Systems Administrator will work closely with all Development and Alumnae Relations (DevAR) teams to develop solutions to ensure the department is implementing and utilizing Salesforce effectively and fully. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development Services, this position will be responsible for all technical aspects of Barnard's Salesforce CRM instance, including systems integrations, data quality, multiple third-party applications, AppExchange products, process automation, and regular upgrades. The Senior Systems Administrator will work closely with IT, Business Analytics, and Development Operations to ensure that the DevAR Salesforce instance functions seamlessly and works appropriately with other College systems. In addition to the duties listed above, the Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, development, and implementation of new workflows, managing and provisioning accounts, assisting with building complex dashboards and reports, and all other related Administrator duties. Job Description: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and administer all technical aspects of Salesforce, including data quality, systems integrations, third party applications, AppExchange products, and process automation.
  • Serve as a member of the database core team.
  • Responsible for building customized solutions that support business requirements and drive key business decisions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Salesforce technical issues as well as with CRM -based applications that utilize the Salesforce platform to provide solutions in conjunction with internal and external architects, developers, and administrators. Collaborate on all change controls and enhancements.
  • Serve as the department subject matter expert on Salesforce and all third-party applications, setting best practices including maintenance, upgrades, application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative refinement.
  • Implement new workflows as needed.
  • Seek out ways to utilize SFDC to improve processes and productivity and make recommendations to support scaling as needed.
  • Define, communicate, and manage a change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code.
  • Work closely with IT and directly with Salesforce support to resolve any technical issues, and proactively escalate issues as needed to the Senior Director of Development Services.
  • In coordination with the Business Analytics unit, administer and support the Development and Alumnae Relations instance of Salesforce including user setup, working with BCIT to ensure seamless connection to single sign on, design/configuration of Custom Objects, Profiles and Roles, Workflow/Process Builder, Visual Flows, Custom Fields, Validation Rules, Duplicate Management Rules, and Page Layouts.
  • Assist the department as needed to develop complex custom reports, dashboards, and processes to monitor data quality.
  • Create and provide project plans, requirements, and technical documentation for larger projects and long-term initiatives.
  • Coordinate testing and deployment plans for complex change management/rollouts.
  • Help to build customized training documentation.
  • Track and communicate progress updates to the database core team and colleagues in non-technical terms, while managing expectations.
  • Provide project leadership and management for CRM initiatives. Work closely with sub-departments to define project scope. Develop project task lists, time estimates, manage their completion, report on progress, and coordinate the work of outside consultants to ensure deliverables are of consistent quality and are completed on time.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of and detailed experience with Salesforce architecture and APIs.
  • Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users.
  • Strong technical project management skills and experience.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong logical, analytical, organizational, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate in technical and non-technical terms.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, System Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Two or more years senior systems administration experience with Salesforce.
  • Salesforce Administrator certifications (ADM 301 or higher), and experience with: Administrator functions (creating users, profiles, roles, permission sets, custom objects, custom fields, page layouts, workflow rules, validation rules, reports, and dashboards, and interfacing with AppExchange, and process builder) and familiarity with Apex, VisualForce, process builder, workflows, and SOQL.
  • Experience writing Apex classes and triggers.
  • Experience using Salesforce data tools (e.g. Data Loader, Excel Connector, Validity (DemandTools), Eclipse Force.com IDE).
  • Ability to read, interpret, explain, and apply technical information on business processes, software, and hardware to technical and non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience experience integrating Salesforce with other applications via real-time, batch, sync/async (Marketing Cloud, or other Enterprise level systems such as Workday).
  • Experience with scripted data loader, web services, cloud or on-premise middleware and other enterprise integrating technologies.
  • Experience in HTML, XML, Flex, JavaScript, ASP, SQL, REST, JSON Java or C++, SOAP-based web services for integration purposes.
  • Experience with Affinaquest.
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Blackthorn and Cayuse.
  • Experience in a development setting within higher education.
Additional Information: This job is primarily performed remotely, but may require a presence in the office for team and full staff meetings and other times as directed by the supervisor. Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000 annually The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
