Essential Functions:

Responsible for preparing product for paint, silkscreen, and/or assembly processes by masking, unmasking, cleaning, finishing and/or touching-up products as needed to meet requirements. May include light assembly and/or packaging activities as needed.

Prepare, mix, and apply paint that meets company and industry standards.

Prepare parts for application of topcoat (cleaning, filling, sanding, and priming)

Monitor and maintain the materials, equipment, and environment needed to ensure the integrity of the paint process, masking process, silk screen process andproduct. Maintaining spray booths, spray equipment, and changing filters.

Follow Safety, Health, and Environmental procedures and practices.Maintain safety, environmental, process, and product traceability records. Including amount of paint used daily on VOC usage records. Respirator inspection records.

Read and interpret manufacturers instructions, drawings, sketches, work orders, etc. needed to mask, unmask, paint, mark or identify product.Reference applicable specifications and standards as appropriate.

Coordinate the efficient utilization and movement of product through the area.

Monitor consumables, chemicals, inks and shelf life used in the painting, masking and silk screen processes.

Take great care to protect the products surface finish, silk screen, or markings.

Create and maintain templates and/or tools necessary for masking products.

Create and maintain templates and/or tools necessary for painting products.

Proper use ofpaint thickness gauge, gloss reader, calipers, Zahn cups, and ovens

Maintain process and product traceability records, including serialization log.

Notify concerned personnel of problematic issues.

Assist engineering personnel with related technical issues.

Implement continual process improvements as appropriate.

Performs other assisgnments as required.

**$1.50/hour shift premium will be added to the hourly rate!**

**Skills & Qualifications**

Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential requirements of this job.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience in blueprint reading

Proper use of calipers.

Overtime and weekend work as needed to support manufacturing activities

Experience in commercial flight or military grade spray finishing and operation of surface coating / spray equipment.

Working experience with silkscreen and masking tools, materials and shop aids, mixing and paint application, and surface preparation methods.

Working knowledge of and ability to interpret customer and industry standards, specifications, and regulations (e.g. MIL-PRF-22750, MIL-PRF-23377, MIL-PRF-85582, MIL-DTL-53039, MIL-PRF-85285)

Working knowledge of the various customer and industry quality systems such as AS9100, FAA, NADCAP, etc, is desired

Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

HS Diploma or GED.

1 to 3 years experience in production manufacturing environment preferably in aerospace, automotive, or commercial environment.
