Position SummaryThe CNM's Irrigation Technician is responsible for maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems in residential, commercial, and agricultural settings. This position performs tasks such as inspecting and troubleshooting irrigation systems, adjusting water flow and pressure, replacing faulty components, and programming irrigation controllers. The role may also be responsible for assessing water usage and making recommendations for water conservation.
Duties & Responsibilities- Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated.
- Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
- May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs snow removal, as required.
- Performs routine inspections of irrigation systems to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or malfunctioning components.
- Adjusts and fine-tunes irrigation systems for optimal performance, including calibrating sprinkler heads and adjusting spray patterns.
- Monitors and manages water usage, ensuring efficient and effective watering practices to conserve water and meet environmental standards.
- Adjusts watering schedules based on weather conditions, seasonal changes, and plant needs.
- Communicates with clients to understand their irrigation needs, provides recommendations, and explains system operations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED;
- Up to 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
