The Parts Runner is responsible for warehouse stocking, pulling parts for deliveries, and delivering requested parts to Technicians. The Parts Runner is efficient, accurate and well organized to have a clean inventory management.Compensation: The Parts Runner Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures that the detail work of the Parts Department is carried out in a smooth and efficient manner by carrying out any assignments handed down by Parts Manager.
  • Delivers parts to technicians as needed, receives parts to be returned for credit or to be exchanged from technicians, cleans and boxes parts for shipment, and prepares necessary papers and shipments to designated consignee.
  • Scheduling of the inbound and outbound flow of parts, work in process.
  • Effectively communicate with Service department to ensure the required parts are available for technicians.
  • Ensure that required parts are ready for shipment according to required deadlines.
  • Pull parts for shipments and technicians.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inbound parts, including the inspection of the material compared to the shipping paperwork (bills of lading, packing lists, parts transfer, etc.) This includes the documentation of material shortages/overages rejected or damaged materials.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Checking in daily orders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Compares and reads part ID numbers up to 18 digits accurately (i.e. VIN numbers and driver's license numbers) from a printed, written and VDT format.
  • Regularly and repeatedly moves a minimum of 50 pounds from ground level to chest height, carries 30 feet and places on shelf or counter.
  • Regular, timely and daily attendance: arrives at 7:00 a.m. or as scheduled.
  • Uses personal computer and VDT, accurately and in timely manner, utilizing a variety of programs and systems.
  • Experienced with dealership in-house computer system and factory communication system.
  • Compares and reads ID numbers up to 18 series accurately (i.e. VIN numbers, part numbers and driver's license numbers) from a printed and VDT format.
  • Records work order information (taken by phone or in person) accurately.
  • Ability to stay on task in order to insure timely and accurate completion of duties.
  • Works cooperatively and courteously with a diverse population of co-workers. Clearly and effectively communicates with diverse work group; handles frustration, anger and pressure without internalizing.
  • Receives directions regarding assignments and then follows through on assignment in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain good employee relations by acting courteously and amicably towards other co-workers.
