Employee Type:RegularWork Shift:Day - 8 hour shift (United States of America)Join Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health!Position Summary: The Cardiovascular Technician, under the direct supervision of a physician assists with and/or performs all routine diagnostic and emergent therapeutic angiographic or catheterization procedures. Assures equipment is functioning properly. Produces and evaluates data, information and images used by the physician in the performance of the procedure. Assists team members in all aspects of patient care, monitoring patient's vital signs, interpreting status information and performing functioning in one or more of the following: monitor, scrub, or circulating technologist. Educates patients, family members and catheterization team. Stocks inventory and all other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSExperience:-Minimum 6 years' experience in invasive cardiovascular technology (formal educational program clinical hours are considered).-Experience with physiological monitoring systems and sterile scrub technique.Education:-High School diploma or GED required.-Must meet and/or be actively working towards a graduate of a certificate, diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, Paramedic or EMT, or nursing).Certification/Licensure:-American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.Physical Requirements: Light-Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) RatingWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobTidelands Health is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).
