Summary: The Enoughis Enough (EIE) Counselor provides direct and indirect social service-relatedassistance to victims of rape, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.The EIE Counselor delivers sexual violence prevention programming on collegecampuses throughout New York City and provides trauma-focused counseling crisisintervention, advocacy, and referrals to students, faculty, and staff impactedby sexual and intimate partner violence. Responsibilities:
  • Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients.
  • Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy with criminal justice, educational, and mental health systems to college students, faculty, and staff who are victims of sexual or intimate partner violence.
  • Conduct client-centered intakes and in-depth safety assessments in person or over the phone.
  • Develop risk management plans with clients, reflecting each client's unique situation.
  • Facilitate sexual violence primary prevention/communitymobilization activities and provide educational workshops andpresentations on campuses regarding sexual and intimate partner violence andthe impact of trauma on victims and providers who assist them.
  • Organize and participate in campus sexual assault and domesticviolence awareness events, including tabling events, panel discussions,and social media campaigns.
  • Engage in service coordination and collaboration with students and school partners to ensure effective protective actions and strategies are taken on behalf of student survivors and campus communities.
  • Engage in policy advocacy andcollaborate with city and state-wide providers on Title IX and Enough isEnough reform.
  • Participate in staff meetings, community meetings, and relevant trainingand seminars.
  • Write and submit timely reports and other administrativerequirements.
  • Enters client data and services into the case management system( CMS ) promptly.
  • Work collaboratively and closely withCommunity Program colleagues funded to support victims impacted by otherforms of violence and abuse to ensure cohesion of services and support.
  • Participate in outreach/tabling events hosted by community groupsand schools.
  • Facilitates training programs and workshops for professionalgroups to promote understanding of the issues of sexual assault and assistthem in developing strategies to prevent sexual assault.Review and revise curriculums as neededfor these outreach efforts.
  • Various other duties to be determined by program supervisors.
RequiredKnowledge and Skills:
  • Stronginterpersonal relationship and crisis management skills.
  • Soundknowledge of victimization issues and general knowledge of treatment modalities(e.g., - trauma treatment models and domestic violence models).
  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
  • Workshopfacilitation and group work skills.
  • Must beable to work collaboratively as well as independently with minimal supervisoryoversight.
  • Organizedand detail-oriented.
  • Computerliterate (including Microsoft Works, PowerPoint, and Excel).
RequiredExperience:
  • Experienceworking in a social service setting providing short-term counseling to victimsof sexual assault and domestic violence.
RequiredEducation:
  • Master'sDegree in social work, counseling, or related field.
Desirable:
  • Preferably2-3 years of experience working with victims of sexual assault or domesticviolence in a social service setting, hospital, or mental health practice.
