Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is currently hiring a PRN Recreation Aide. PRN employees do not have a set schedule and will be called in to work as an as needed basis.Typical weekday shifts include: 9am - 12pm, 1pm - 5pm, or an occasional 9am - 5pm.On weekends, typical shifts include: Saturdays from 9am - 12pm.Schedules are posted a month in advance.Some benefits of this position include:* Flexible scheduling* Competitive pay* Emotionally fulfilling atmosphereWhat will I do?Our Recreation Aide, under the direction of the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor:* Implements the therapeutic recreational needs of the residents to include their physical, social, emotional, vocational, spiritual, and cognitive needs.* Leads and directs activities for residents in The Healthcare Center and Assisted Living.What do I need for this role?* Experience working with seniors in a health care or long-term care preferred.* Experience using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, Publisher, and Excel.* Upbeat and engaging attitude.* Organized and detail oriented.* Ability to meet the physical requirements of this role such as: set up for activities (moving and rearranging furniture); helping residents in wheelchairs and geri-chairs; climbing stairs; helping residents get on and off the van or bus, etc.
