To assist in maintaining high quality services for staff, students, parents, and community members who utilize the services assigned to this position. To assist Media Specialists in carrying out the duties assigned to that position. To strive for positive and collegial public relations with the staff, students, parents and community members. QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must have earned a high school diploma. Technology experience or training preferred. Experience in a school setting preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Possess the ability to effectively operate current technology at a proficient level including but not limited to Google Apps, Apple Products, and Microsoft Suite. Demonstrate the ability to appropriately provide service to patrons. Possess an acceptable attendance history in prior positions and demonstrate the ability to meet the daily attendance requirements of the designated position. Possess a successful work history supported by references. Demonstrate the ability to practice confidentiality with sensitive information. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and assist in establishing a positive climate in the work environment. Demonstrate adaptability to district/department changes. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists students, staff, and Media Specialists by:
- Supervising and training student aides
- Monitoring and addressing student behavior and reinforcing district/school/IMC rules
- Managing the circulation desk
- Managing student passes and attendance
- Assisting with IMC classes and lessons
- Troubleshooting technology as needed
- Participating in district training and activities
- Completing other duties as assigned
Assists with district/school/IMC procedures such as:
- Opening and closing the IMC at designated times
- Assisting with school machines (e.g. photocopiers, computers, Mastery Manager, printers, scanners, laminator etc.)
- Scheduling and reserving IMC spaces and maintaining the IMC calendar
- Assisting with technology/equipment issues
- Circulating and organizing IMC materials/equipment
- Managing overdue materials, notices, and fines
- Assisting with the maintenance of IMC materials/equipment
- Managing interschool materials circulation and records
- Shelving and organizing materials
- Repairing damaged books
- Processing, managing, and filing materials
- Laminating materials
- Assisting with department records and statistics
- Assisting with maintaining an educational and clean environment.
- Assisting with inventory of materials and equipment
- Assisting with displays, signage, promotions, and public relations
- Completing other duties as assigned
