POSITION SUMMARY:The Birthday Party Host is responsible set up, breakdown, and overall party experience of party goers. Major areas of responsibility and accountability include, but are not limited to supervising and interacting with children, party goers, responding to emergencies promptly, and providing positive reinforcement and redirection when needed, all within the policies and guidelines of the YMCA.OUR MISSION: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communicate and promote the YMCA mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers and the community at large.Work with the party contact to ensure tables, chairs and clean trash cans are available and room is set up accordingly.Communicate with supervisor any concerns and supply needs.Facilitation of pool and/or gym parties as scheduled each weekend.Actively engage with staff and party participants at all times during party programming.Work with other department staff to provide quality experience.Set- up, decorate reserved space as party theme/package, serve food and cake to party guest. Ensure proper care, use and storage of birthday supplies and equipment.Responsible for cleanup, chair and table breakdown, and storing equipment safely.Promote a safe and positive atmosphere during scheduled working hours.Identifies and resolves problem areas to ensure member satisfaction.Responsible for a smooth and consistent flow of communication between party host/hostess and Birthday Party Coordinator in regard to schedule and work concerns.Maintain a positive attitude. Attend any and all trainings and meetings as required by Program Director. QUALIFICATIONS
- At Least 18 years of ages
- YMCA and birthday party experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certified or will to obtain certification.
