Job DescriptionSBH Health System - St. Barnabas Hospital is an acute care hospital and Trauma Center with over 400+ beds.Located in south-central Bronx, New York, SBH is at the foot of Fordham University, The Bronx Zoo, and BronxBotanical Gardens. SBH also serves as an academic health system, affiliated with the CUNY School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. SBH Health System supports two FQHC primary care centers, two faculty practice sites, and an on-campus Ambulatory Care Center.SBH Health System is seeking a full-time Controller to join our Accounting Division and help with themanagement of accounting and financial processes. Reporting to the EVP/CFO VP of Finance, this role will oversee the day to day accounting and finance operations and help direct accounting policy and system improvements. - Oversees all financial reporting activities including monthly and yearly financial statements along performing real-time variance analysis ensuring the books are accurate and complete.
- Manage overall day-to-day finance operations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate support US GAAP ERISA independent audits, including preparing consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and variance reporting with the ability respond/react to any findings.
- Oversee various state and federal tax functions and ensure compliance with IRS regulations including annual 990 tax return, CHAR 500 1120 filings for the Health System as well as subsidiaries and affiliates.
- Collaborate with international partners on Hospital's foreign Captive Insurance Program and overseeing the reconciliation of due to/due from accounts.
- Support EVP/CFO VP Finance by participating in or leading special projects or analyses.
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and supervises improvements to internal controls and/oroperating procedures.

RequirementsQualifications:
- Strong commitment to vision, mission, and values of SBH Health System
- A bachelor's or graduate degree/certification in Accounting/ Finance.
- Public Accounting and Healthcare experience preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a financial manager required.
- Advanced experience with Oracle and Microsoft Office with heavy excel usage.
- Excellent communicator, both written and oral when working with internal and external teams.
