STV, Inc. specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities.Our Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national, and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out.Minimum Qualifications Include:* 8 to 15 year design experience. Four year engineering degree from an accredited university.* Registered Professional Engineer (by exam) or capable of getting PE within 12 months.* Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the latest version of the National Electrical Code, especially hazardous location wiring practices.* Working knowledge of industry standards: and relevant UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, ISA* Proficient in interfacing with 480 V and below power electrical equipment (MCC and motor controls, transformers, ASDs, etc.) and calculations: Conduit fill, voltage drop, transformer sizing, Feeder/Conductor sizing, Panelboard and breaker sizing, etc.* Understanding of power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAP* Proficient in MS Word and Excel in creating documents from scratch.* Experience with wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, PLC cabinet design, plot plans, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&IDs, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, electrical and instrument installation details.* Excellent interpersonal relationship skills: Work with clients one-on-one (minimal supervision) on scope development and technical details. Good verbal and written communication skills in English* Excellent mentoring skills to help train less experienced designers and engineers.Responsibilities in Addition to Minimum Qualifications* Lead projects from start to finish. Plan own daily work and the work of other team members.* Manage budget and schedule for the project's resources and deliverables.* Participate in or lead squad check drawing package reviews.* Be able to read, interpret, and check vendor E&I drawings and vendor catalogs.* Travel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (< 5% of time).Additional Experience a plus:* Oil and Gas Pipeline Projects* Medium voltage power distribution* Understanding of specifying, designing installations, & protective relay settings for medium voltage electrical equipment (motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFDs)* Proficient in AutoCAD at creating drawings from scratch and MS Access* Basic understanding of Revit.* Experiences requiring leadership and self-initiated activities.
