Nursing Home Resident Ambassador

Richmond Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is currently seeking a full-time Resident Ambassador for our SkilledNursing Facility located in Staten Island, NY. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a pleasant demeanor!

DUTIES:

  • Ensure rooms are clean and necessary equipment is present before a new resident is admitted.
  • Discuss new residents with hospital liaisons to ensure preparedness.
  • Meet new residents within 24 hours of admission to ensure a smooth, hassle-free move and provide a welcome basket.
  • Complete a resident satisfaction survey within 24 hours of admission.
  • Call or meet with residents' next of kin to inform them of the resident's arrival and answer any questions they may have.
  • Coordinate between new residents and unit managers to ensure a quick evaluation upon arrival.
  • Address all resident questions and concerns, and coordinate with the necessary department to resolve issues.
  • Conduct daily rounds on every floor to address residents' needs and concerns.
  • Maintain a daily log of questions, concerns, and issues raised, along with any follow-up steps taken.
  • Submit daily logs to the Facility Administrator.
  • Complete a patient satisfaction survey a week prior to resident discharge.
  • Assist residents in leaving Google reviews/Birdseye feedback.
  • Call hospitalized residents and their families within 24-48 hours of hospitalization to check-in.
  • Provide and coordinate tours for potential new residents and their loved ones.
  • Be seen as the “go-to” person for all patient satisfaction needs by staff and residents.
  • Help where needed, be a team player and assist in any problem area.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate passion, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with residents.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused despite frequent interruptions.
  • Must be a self-motivator.
  • Experience in long-term care (LTC) community relations policies is a plus.
