Engineering/Maintenance Worker
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Makes repairs on facility equipment and buildings.
- Perform required preventativemaintenance of equipment.
- Maintains the necessary logs and forms and records required information.
- Performs specialized tasks including plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, vinyl application, studding, sheetrock, taping, sanding and all repairs required inside and outside of the facility.
- Performs minor building construction as directed by supervisor.
- Replaces and unclogs hair traps, unplugs toilets, repairs washers and dryers, and replaces broken pipes/water lines as needed.
- Remove/relocate furniture from rooms no longer occupied. Relocates offices or departments to new locations including disassembling and reassembling of furniture or equipment.
- Completes all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Preferably Nursing Home or Hospital Experience
- At least two years' experience working with electrical, heating, plumbing, boilers and air conditioning systems.
- Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties.
- Must be able to follow through on oral/written instructions, sketches and drawings.
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
- Must be able to use ladders, staging or scaffolding devices as part of normal work routine.
- Available for emergency work and on-call as needed.
