Position DetailsPosition Information Job Type Student Position Title Math Tutor Purpose or role of this position at Morehouse Math N' More, an acute math firm dedicated to supporting grade school scholars in becoming proficient in mathematics, is seeking passionate and dedicated Math Tutors. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in mathematics, prior tutoring experience with K12 scholars, and a passion for education. This position is perfect for scholars majoring in mathematics or related fields who aspire to become educators.Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to 3rd Grade -12th Grade scholars in various math subjects.
- Develop and implement effective tutoring plans tailored to each scholar's needs and learning style.
- Assist scholars with homework, test preparation, and developing strong mathematical understanding.
- Monitor and assess scholar progress, providing feedback and adjusting tutoring strategies as needed.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with Math N' More staff to ensure consistency and quality of tutoring services.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and scholar progress.
Position Description Work-Study, Math Tutor position Office Location Off Campus Position Accessibility In the office Position Availability Fall, Spring Select the days that are available for students to work and put the hours that are available for students to work (examples 9am-5pm, 9am-12pm & 4pm-6pm) Saturday - 10am - 2pm, Monday - 3pm - 7pm, Tuesday - 3pm - 7pm, Wednesday - 3pm - 7pm, Thursday - 3pm - 7pm, Friday - 3pm - 7pm General Qualifications
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience with grade level scholars.
- Ability to work after-school hours and some holiday breaks
- Currently enrolled sophomores or higher (required)
- College graduate (preferred)
- Strong background in mathematics; majoring in mathematics, education, or a related field preferred.
- Passion for education and helping scholars succeed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in an understandable manner.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
