Position Type: Classified StaffDate Posted: 8/30/2024Location: FINANCE SERVICES DEPARTMENTPOSITION PURPOSE: Performs complex payroll functions to ensure efficient and effective payroll operation and completion. Provides assistance to supervisor, school and central office personnel and the general public as required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Verifies employee information and executes additions, deletions and changes for payroll.
  • Maintains employee leave and attendance records; generates reports as directed or assigned.
  • Inputs employee deductions including tax, retirement, credit union, or other relevant data.
  • Process direct deposit notification via Frontline.
  • Assist with time sheet data entry.
  • Assist with processing authorized stipend payments.
  • Assist Payroll Administrator during processing of payroll.
  • Assist with collection of payroll overpayments.
  • Maintain employee garnishments.
  • Verify and process homebound teacher payments.
  • Perform Munis ESS password reset.
  • Recall of payroll advices.
  • Process payroll vendor payments biweekly and monthly.
  • Perform clerical payroll duties to include filing of payroll documents and seal, sort and distribute direct deposit advices.
  • Provide training for school-based payroll staff.
  • Maintains integrity of confidential information and data security in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Payroll Administrator, Director of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum: High School diploma and one-year certificate from college or technical school (or equivalent in related field) and one-year experience, or two years related experience.
  • Preferred: High School diploma and two-year certificate or degree from college or technical school and two years' experience, or four years related experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages is essential.
EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be detail oriented and have demonstrated skill and knowledge of financial database, spreadsheet, and word-processing software experience. Individual must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, a strong work ethic; professional attitude; strong problem solving skills; data analysis and ability to work accurately and independently as well as with the team in a fast-paced, high volume environment. Successful individual will need to work professionally and efficiently with all employees and vendors.
