Job Summary:Packaging Line Workers work together as a team to be sure that finished product is processed and packaged according to our customers specifications. Individuals should have a can-do attitude and be ready to work with the team with respect and kindness to completeour production goals. Employee must follow all policies and procedures set by the company.Reporting relationships:
- Directly supervised by the Packaging Table Leads and Packaging Supervisors for their shift.
- Indirectly supervised by the Packaging Manager, and the Operations Manager
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cutting, weighing, bagging, drying, inspecting and labeling product
- Able to recognize and identify the different materials used to package and process (labels, bag/containers, cheese cuts, cheese varieties etc.)
- Assist on different lines (Fry room, fresco line and ghee), as needed
- Wash plastic cheese tubs as needed
- Perform sanitation in between lots
- Read daily and understand packaging board and schedule
- Return supplies after use and maintain storage area neat and organized
- Remove contaminated or poorly packaged product from the line
- Operate both the 8610 and the Koch Sealer
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including all common areas of the company
- Other Tasks as assigned
RequirementsEducation:
- No specific educational requirements
Experience:
- Position is entry level, no previous experience required.
- Past experience in either a manufacturing environment or in food service of any kind is preferred.
Licensure Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- This position is performed standing. Individual must be able to stand for at least 4 hours consecutively.
- This position requires that the individual lift objects which weigh up to 30 lbs regularly.
- This position is performed in an environment where the individual can be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Employee will be provided with adequate training before performing tasks which involve chemicals.
- This position is performed in an environment where slips, trips and falls may be a hazard. Employee will be required to maintain adequate footwear provided by the company.
