DescriptionSummaryThe Material Handler supports Operations in the movement of material and supplies. The Material Handler receives and issues parts/components to/from the manufacturing floor, properly identifies material, is accountable for its accuracy in stock locations and ensures the availability of production material for the assigned programs. The Material Handler inventories material from Receiving or the manufacturing floor before it goes back to stock.Shift: Friday-Sunday | 5:00 AM-5:30 PMEssential FunctionsLevel I & IIPerforms all functions of the Material Handler role within in the company guidelines of safetyMaintains a level of quality that is acceptable at all levels of the organizationParticipates in the adherence of productivity levels for the multiple areas of manufacturing that they supportUnloading of inbound shipments and loading outbound shipmentsPull parts from stock to build orders assigned to the manufacturing floorReceives/Pop Backfills finished product by transacting the appropriate manufacturing ordersFill and account for material requisitions submitted by the manufacturing floorPlacing hardware/beams into stock from receiving/production floorEnsures the correct balances are maintained by the performance of Cycle CountsEnsures proper forklift charging policies are being followed and operator logs are completed dailyRemoves trash and recycling from the buildingSupports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policiesPerforms other duties as directedLEVEL III & IVPreforms all essential functions and competencies listed for Level I & Level IIMonitor appropriate reports to ensure Priority material is delivered to the correct location in a timely mannerEnsure the correct balances are maintained by the performance of Cycle Counts and complete a thorough investigation of any discrepancies found while Cycle CountingResearch and identify material related issues using all available inquiries within the computerized systemDemonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism when representing the companyProvide basic assistance and direction to less experienced employees as requested by managementPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSLevel I & IIEffective organization and prioritization skillsEffective interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrevious use of RF scanners preferredPossesses basic computer skillsPrevious inventory and forklift experience requiredMust be self-driven to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervisionAttention to detailMay pull and package parts for sales orders and send to shippingStrong emphasis on safety, quality and productivityRestock shelves with incoming material from various sources and locates material in the computerized systemAll employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure GEOTEK meets, or exceeds Customer SatisfactionLEVEL III & IVExcellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and problem solving skills are essentialProven ability to complete projects in a timely mannerPrevious warehouse management experience requiredProven experience researching and identifying material related issues using the ERP systemAbility to mentor less seasoned Material HandlersCycle Counting experience is requiredPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
