Our company is committed to being trusted voices of light and truth reaching hundreds of millions of people worldwide.SUMMARY: The Food and Beverage Buyer at Temple Square Hospitality plays a crucial role in shaping the culinary experience by sourcing products and managing the Commissary operations. You'll collaborate with the VP of Operations and department chefs to ensure our menus are supported by the best available ingredients, while managing budgets and controlling costs. The role requires maintaining strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing, monitoring inventory levels, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products, and optimizing cost efficiency.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Product Sourcing: Identify and evaluate suppliers for food and beverage products, ensuring quality, cost, and sustainability.Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve favorable pricing.Commissary Management: Responsible for the operations in the Commissary and all internal purchases to various departments.Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, collaborating with the operations team to ensure accurate forecasting.Order Management: Place and track orders with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to meet business requirements.Market Analysis: Conduct regular market research to identify trends, new products, and opportunities to improve purchasing strategies.Compliance: Ensure all purchases meet health, safety, and environmental standards, in accordance with company policies and Utah state regulations.Cost Optimization: Analyze purchasing patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings and improve procurement processes.Reporting: Prepare reports on purchasing activities, spending, and vendor performance for senior management review.Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary and operations teams to ensure that purchased products meet quality and operational needs.SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: 2-4 years of experience in food and beverage purchasing or a related procurement role.Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage vendor relationships and contracts.Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects and priorities.Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for vendor management and internal collaboration.OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:Adaptability: Willingness to take on additional tasks as necessary to support the needs of the organization.Flexibility: This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to meet purchasing deadlines or address supply chain issues.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT:We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
