DescriptionSUMMARY: The Relocation Coordinator is responsible for assisting and directing relocation staff and residents in the timely and effective execution of CMHA's relocation, transfer, and reasonable accommodation process. The position reports directly to the Relocation Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. •Prepare comprehensive relocation plans, in accordance with the Uniform Relocation Act, all applicable HUD regulations and CMHA policies and procedures. Acquire and assimilate, as needed, HUD 1378-24 CFR updates. •Work with resident leadership and management staff from the affected housing site(s) to develop a relocation plan which best meets the needs of all parties. Ensure HUD approval of all relocation plans prior to implementation. •Represent CMHA management throughout the relocation process; Serve as the liaison for any relocation issues; assist all departmental areas in implementing the relocation logistics. •Serve as the management liaison on the relocation committee. •Inspect units during construction/rehabbing to critique quality and/or ensure that tenant specific amenities are included or in place. •May assign and assist with unit inspections after rehab is completed. •Coordinate procurement process to identify movers for relocations and work with MBE Coordinator and purchasing office for award of contract and perform quality checks on timeliness, efficiency and overall customer satisfaction with mover. •Conduct assessments for Reasonable Accommodation requests. •Determine assessments of resident's or participants total needs with regard to intra-housing authority transfers due to medical, reasonable accommodation, or domestic dispute. •Provide consultation to managers and other CMHA personnel seeking guidance in efforts to solve the problems of CMHA residents, which arise from the relocation process. •Develop and maintain good working relationships with health, welfare and social agencies, and community outreach to assist in the development of new resources to meet resident relocation needs. •Participate and assist in departmental projects. •Perform basic administrative tasks related to the job, i.e. prompt submittal of case recordings, statistical reports and other related information. •Maintain functional knowledge of the department service-delivery system including interpreting CMHA programs; services and activities to clients and other agencies while handling sensitive information and material in confidence. •Travel throughout the county to attend meetings or perform other job functions during work and/or non-work hours. •Perform additional duties as assigned. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. •Possess working knowledge of relocation procedures. •Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. •Ability to work with diverse population. •Knowledge of HUD policies and procedures governing housing matters. •Familiarity of moving logistics, community and related service availability for referral purposes. •Demonstrated commitment to working with the low-income, elderly and disabled communities. •Demonstrated knowledge of PC-based software applications (Microsoft Word and Excel). EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS: •Bachelor's degree in social services, business or a related field. •Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience for a public agency, or related experience in the social service or community service field. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions in an environment that could have increased stress levels. OTHER: The candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence, and maintain an insurable driving record under the terms and conditions of the CMHA auto liability policy. The candidate may have no more than 6 accumulated points in 3 consecutive years.
