Construction Inspector The Construction Inspector will provide construction management support for a project involving asphalt and concrete paving along with Electric Vehicle charging systems for the GSA in Martinsburg, WV. Work will be onsite both interior and exterior.Duties include:
  • Perform value engineering reviews;
  • Participate in weekly progress meeting;
  • Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes;
  • Review project submittals;
  • Prepare government cost estimates;
  • Prepare written scopes of work;
  • Set up and maintain job files;
  • Prepare and update the project budget;
  • Review cost proposals and change orders;
  • Perform substantial completion inspection;
  • Provide technical review support;
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFI's);
  • Maintain logs of all construction documents.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience in construction inspection with an emphasis on asphalt and concrete paving.
  • Team-player, proactive, self-starter attitude.
  • Interest and ability to resolve a wide range of challenges.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently verbally and in writing.
  • Develop weekly reports and progress reports, both internally and to the client.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites unaided.
  • Federal experience preferred, particularly with GSA.
  • Independent and autonomous work style with limited management input.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understand and develop construction schedules.
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Understand and develop detailed Scopes of Work for design and construction projects.
  • Experience with Kahua software preferred.
Physical and Environmental Demands
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
