Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly motivated hands-on experienced Senior Research Scientist to join our innovative research and development team. Your expertise in the material science of polymers, emulsions, asphalt, and fuels will contribute to solving complex challenges and advance our material science capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize specialized techniques to analyze materials and interpret data, focusing on advanced material characterization.
  • Collaborate across teams to solve technical challenges and innovate in the field of polymers and complex materials.
  • Provide leadership in developing and applying analytical methods to assess raw materials and product quality.
  • Train and mentor junior scientists and engineers by sharing expertise and guiding their technical development.
  • Work as part of a team to design and carry out experiments aimed at improving product performance and quality.
  • Regularly communicate project updates through presentations and detailed reports.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, offering insights and technical guidance to senior management.
  • Play a critical role in validating methods for testing material stability and ensuring product reliability.
  • Contribute expertise across various project teams, bringing scientific insight to multidisciplinary challenges.
  • Assist with study design, data analysis, and interpretation, and manage statistical aspects of research projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry with 10+ years of experience, or MS in Chemistry with 15+ years in an industrial setting.
  • Strong material science and analytical chemistry background, with hands-on experience in advanced characterization techniques.
  • Proficient in methods such as FTIR, NMR, and thermal analysis, with practical problem-solving skills in material science.
  • Experience in method validation, stability testing, and the development of analytical protocols.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and hazardous waste management.
  • Creative thinker with a track record of developing solutions to technical challenges in a lab setting.
  • Direct experience with various material testing techniques is a plus, including thermal analysis and chromatography methods.
