Core Job Responsibilities - Assess, diagnose and monitor and promote clinical status of each Neuroscience patient
- Assist with history and physicals, consults, progress notes, procedures (as appropriate) and discharges
- Participate in and lead Stroke Rounds in different levels of care at the hospital
- Designing personalized neurological treatment plans
- Act as a clinical resource for patients and the interdisciplinary team
- Answer triage calls and pages
- Assist with outpatient clinic
- Participate in maintaining Comprehensive Stroke Center status with attendance at departmental
Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED:
- Masters degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
- Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
- Familiar with EHR/EMR software.
Licensure/Certification Requirements REQUIRED:
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
- Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
PREFERRED:
- Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
