Salary: $14.35 Hourly Location : Douglas Campus, AZ Job Type: Student Job Number: 2401577 Division: STAcademics Departments: STAcademics - Bus CTE - Aviation Opening Date: 09/10/2024 FLSA: Non-Exempt Remote Work Eligible: No Pay Grade: Student Duration/Parameters: Part-Time; Temporary Position Summary The Student - Aviation Dispatch Office Aide is responsible for providing support to the Aviation Department by checking aircraft in and out for flights, performing data entry and other clerical duties specific to the department. Note: Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees. Position is open until filled with applications reviewed upon receipt and may close at any time. Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position: Checks aircraft in and out for flights; ensures flight students present proper credentials to be assigned an airplane; issues and receives flight bags; inspects to ensure keys, trackers and other materials are returned Enters data in spreadsheets to track flights Performs clerical duties such as filing, typing, scanning, photocopying, answering phones, and taking messages Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor General Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position. Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEducation and Experience Requirements: Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and effectively with all types of data Work Environment & Physical RequirementsWork Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important Part time and student positions are not benefit eligible
