- This position works a 12 hour rotating shift schedule.

Job Summary
As a Conveyor Operator, you will work in a team atmosphere to ensure continual generation of electricity by transporting coal and operating and maintaining conveyor system, dust elimination system, and fly ash handling facilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of coal and flyash handling facilities
- Operate coal handling and dust collection equipment
- operate conveyor system
- adjust controls to regulate rate of coal movement
- collect samples for laboratory tests
- monitor and inspect conveying equipment
- submit requests for repair or investigation
- Assist in maintaining coal and yard equipment, facilities, roadways, track system, ash disposal areas, drainage system, and yard area
- monitor and inspect equipment, facilities and yard
- lubricate, clean and adjust equipment
- perform minor equipment maintenance
- perform vacuuming
- assist with duties and tasks, under the direction of a qualified union person, in other departments when required
- Assist in railcar unloading
- monitor and inspect train unloading equipment
- assist Coal and Yard operator with train unloading, as needed
- operate locomotive and assist with railcar switching
- Operate fly ash handling facilities
- grease and lubricate valves and equipment as required
- operate fly ash unloading equipment
- load and unload trucks
- Prevent jamming and damage to conveyor system
- clean and dislodge materials from under conveyors
- oil and grease conveyor and related equipment
- Maintain logs and required paperwork
- record data such as environmental forms and logs, material moved, weight, and operating condition of equipment
- Follow safe work practices and maintain environmental awareness
- Identify hazards and take corrective action as required. Participate in the Energy Control Program, where trained and qualified
- Provide relief for other positions as required and work without assistance in job areas where sufficient knowledge and training are present
- obtain necessary training
- participate in on-the-job training and perform on the job training for others
- learn duties of coal and yard positions
- Respond to emergency situations
Minimum Education Required
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year industrial or construction trade-related experience is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Heavy equipment and/or material handling equipment experience is desirable
