Job Summary

Compass One, a division of Compass Group North America, has a Director of Business Development position available in the Midwest markets. This professional top-performer will work under the supervision of the Sales VP, while learning all the steps of the sales process with a focus on strategic prospecting that leads to the generation of new opportunities. Other responsibilities include maintaining full product knowledge and researching targeted accounts to build potential customer relationships. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for assuring profitable market growth through the procurement and support of new healthcare accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic prospecting strategy
  • Detailed approach to prospecting by tailoring messages and frequency to various buying influences
  • Use of CRM to detail and track activity
  • Develop Vertical growth (MCC) approaches, working with operations to generate leads and opportunities
  • Use of the internet, Definitive and Truven data sources, social networking to connect in relatable ways
  • Work with marketing to leverage resources and analytics to support efforts
  • Work in collaboration with Sales VP and Sales Directors to identify targeted accounts
  • Communicate optimally across the organization both horizontally and vertically. Partner with operating colleagues
  • Research targeted accounts and prospective buyers to gain perspective on organizational business needs, current state of services, and pain points in order to begin developing a prospecting strategy
  • Build trust with prospects by understanding healthcare challenges, becoming proficient in product knowledge and making meaningful connections
  • Work closely with Sales Directors to coordinate initial meetings and transition of opportunities. Stay engaged as vital to support and improve the potential of closing the sale
  • Network with industry organizations and GPO reps where appropriate to generate sales activity, i.e. state associations and ACHE
  • Strong sales and sales-related function skills including dedication to Compass Sales Process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Proven track record in new business development or lead generation, preferably in the Healthcare or contract management industry
  • Strong digital literacy and ability to work with CRM database management system
  • Ability to represent the organization at a variety of industry and non-industry events
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High energy level, strong executive presence and the ability to progress further in the organization
  • Has the ability to handle career and relationships in a professional manner with Trust and Integrity
  • Experience in selling at the 'C' level
  • Ability to travel on average about 50% within the territory
  • Teammate who wants to be part of and contribute to the success of a top-caliber sales organization
