Parttime Activities Assistant Position at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Smithfield, RI! Parttime schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday 9:30am-5:30pm Covid vaccine requiredPrior experience working in activities requiredTo join this team please have the following requirements:
- Prior experience as an activities assistant required, prior experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- COVID Vaccination
- High School Diploma or GED.
- An ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Activities Assistants provide life enrichment to the patients who live in our facilities
- Decorating patient hallways for upcoming holidays or parties
- Planning parties for them for birthdays/anniversaries
- Playing bingo games with them or card games
- Participating in Resident Council meetings where patients are given an opportunity to voice concerns and what they wish to do for activities
- Monitoring residents in communal games or activities in the dining room or other communal space, or during meal serving periods
