REMOTE WORK ELIGILITY: No HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 40 hours/week and 52 weeks/year FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt, Hourly GENERAL PURPOSE The public safety officer serves and protects the campus community. Duties include but are not limited to ensuring buildings are secured and safe, making themselves available to the students, faculty and the staff for assistance and assisting in emergency situations on campus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foot, bicycle and motor patrol.
- Responding to medical and other emergences.
- Report writing.
- Operate and maintain the command center (building alarm systems, fire safety and closed circuit televisions systems)
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be approachable and professional.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- More than 8 years of work related experience
- Licensed pursuant to the New York State Security Guard Act of 1992
- Certified in first aid, CPR/AED/Narcan
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
