Following the success of our first VR title Archangel, we elevated our ambition and tackled The Walking Dead universe in VR. The result was the 2020 genre-defining hit The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. We are currently working on several highly anticipated VR games for emerging platforms that we can't wait for you to play.

The Game Director leads the creative vision for a game project team, directing all elements to drive a holistic concept across disciplines, and coordinating team efforts to achieve common goals. Reporting to the VP Creative, the Game Director will work closely with studio and project leadership to bring the game to life.

Responsibilities:
  • Guide technical, aesthetic, and narrative details and review designs for mechanics and content throughout development.
  • Define and evangelize game pillars, player journey, quality expectations, and key deliverables for assigned game.
  • Regularly present game direction and strategy of the game to project stakeholders and publishing partners.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions with various teams.
  • Work with designers, artists, and engineers to define objectives, maintain standards, and create robust documentation.
  • Involved in producing pitch materials for internal presentations.
  • Manage discipline leads and cultivate conditions necessary for their success, working with producers and studio leadership to marshal required support and resources.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years experience in the game industry, with 5+ years experience as a Creative Director or Game Director and a portfolio of shipped games.
  • Proven track record in creating and maintaining design direction and shipping a game, preferably AAA.
  • Strong at providing feedback that empowers team members to produce their best work.
  • Experience communicating a game vision to teams and partners.
  • Experience guiding multidisciplinary teams to create better storytelling and gameplay experiences.
  • Experience with developing and launching games in Unreal.
  • Experience with melee combat or fighting games preferred.

The salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $180,000 – $205,000. The salary offered may vary based on the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
