Position DescriptionTitle: Material Handler/Forklift Operator Department: PolyAir - IPG ChicagoImmediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory StaffStatus: Hourly Union Position Purpose: Operates Forklift on 12hr ShiftSchedule: 12 hour shift 7PM - 7:15 AM, rotating 2-2-3, 3-2-2, every other weekendPlus $.65 Night Shift Premium!Principle Accountabilities
- Move raw materials to the production lines or proper storage areas, as required
- Stage finished product per instructions or move to warehouse storage area
- Track and sort inventory
- Ensures the accuracy of incoming and outgoing materials
- Organize assigned work areas, using lift truck or hand balm, as indicated
- Troubleshoot part issues
- Observe safe working practices
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
- Complete required paperwork
- Keep warehouse clean and neat
- Relieve in production as assigned and trained
- Other assigned duties, as required
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- 2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / general labor experience preferred.
- Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
- Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
- General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
- Inventory experience preferred
