Pay Grade: Classified Level 3 Pay Grade: Classified Level 3 Primary Purpose: Assist in completing / filling and delivering furniture requested through the work order system. Assist in keeping inventory of items in storage facility, keep area neat and clean. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED desirable Valid Texas driver's license Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to communicate (verbally) Ability to read and understand written instruction Ability to work with people and take direction from supervisor Ability to operate a truck up to 1 ½ tons Experience: Ability to follow directions Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Assists in maintaining inventoried items in a secure area. 2. Perform preventive maintenance on truck. 3. Insures inventory disposition slips are correct. 4. Coordinates with personnel on request from outside district facilities. 5. Maintain inventory of all items at storage facility. 6. Pick up text books for disposal. 7. Assists in auction as needed. Safety 1. Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures. 2. Follow established safety procedures and technique to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc. 3. Ensure that vehicles, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition. 4. Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency. 5. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. 6. Delivers equipment/furniture to campuses in a safe manner. 7. Assists in maintaining storage areas in a safe and clean manner. Other 8. Any other duties assigned by supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities: Act as crew lead when supervisor is off Equipment Used: 1 ½ ton lift gate truck, dollies, piano rollers and power lifts. Work Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures and loud noises. Frequent district wide travel, works around machinery with moving parts.
