What are the primary responsibilities in the Sr. DSP/Satellite Communications Engineer position?
- Responsible for research, design, and development of digital signal processing and satellite communications systems deployed on a variety of platforms including CPU, GPU, and FPGA.
- Participates in all phases of the product development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
- Applies engineering, software, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of system solutions.
- Works closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and overall system design.
- Develops test procedures and related documentation.
- Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
- Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
- Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results
What required background will make you successful?
- Active TS/SCI security clearance (US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- Knowledge of software design principles including industry best practices and design trends
- Ability to communicate software and algorithm design, complexity analysis, and performance metrics in written and oral reports
- Ability to quickly grasp and come up-to-speed with large software code bases
Preferred skills:
- Full-stack development experience
- Experience with GitLab, GitHub or other revision control systems, and agile development practices
- 5+ years' experience Python, C or C++, CUDA, VHDL
- Security+ Certification
- Familiarity with additional high-level languages (Python, Shell Scripting, etc.)
