OverviewThe Regional Sales Director, Supplemental Health Benefits is a highly visible Sales & Distribution position with a significant role in driving future growth in the Voluntary Benefits marketplace. This position will be field-focused, working in tandem with external sales team and relationship management to generate profitable growth in Voluntary Benefits.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Partner closely with Regional VP to execute a sales plan for the West territory designed to drive growth and strengthen Securian's brand as a leader in Voluntary Benefits. The states included in the West territory are AK, HI, CA, WA, OR, ID, NV, AZ, CO, NM, TX, OK, WY, MT, & UT.
  • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies that will differentiate Voluntary products and services in the market; provide guidance on prospecting efforts and targets for new channel partner relationships.
  • Consult on new opportunities, including RFP assessment, channel partner/employer discussions and finalist support.
  • Manage entire sales process in conjunction with the Sales RVP, including prospecting, RFP receipt and submission, as well as any required follow up with channel partner. Maintain Salesforce.com with updated information and opportunity tracking.
  • Develop and deliver effective sales presentation to support targeted growth of Voluntary products.
  • Work with Client Relationship team to develop yearly targets and plan of engagement from a channel partner standpoint. Define success metrics and ensure execution of yearly plan/strategy.
  • Partner with Voluntary Products leadership in future product design, internal capabilities, process improvements, and general strategy work.
  • Provide competitive feedback from field sales meetings and pipeline calls to drive strategy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience working in a fast-paced financial services sales environment.
  • Outstanding communication (written/verbal) with proven capabilities, including excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
  • Ability to frame conversations strategically and overcome objections by negotiating and persuading and listen and explain ideas.
  • Ability to handle complex tasks with a strong sense of urgency. Ability to analyze data and understand trends within the data, reports, and information.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with the field, colleagues, subject-matter-experts, stakeholders.
  • Proven customer service focus both internally and externally.
  • Strong orientation and capability with process knowledge and process improvement in a production environment.
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity.
  • Demonstrate a proactive drive and ability to take action with limited supervision, with a desire to achieve established goals, key metrics, and set a new standard of performance.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of traveling, approximately 50% of the time; this includes the ability to operate a motor vehicle as well as an ability to utilize air travel.

Estimated PayThe estimated base pay range for this job is $0-$999,999. Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. This job may also be eligible for a performance-based incentive program.
