GENERAL DESCRIPTION Customer service representative responsible for processing non-emergent in-bound and out-bound calls to other medical professionals while maintaining excellent customer service and a positive attitude. ENTRY LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS 1 Year Call Center experience preferred Medical terminology experience preferred ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Accept non-emergent in-bound calls from hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities Accurately enter patient information and medical necessity Contact facilities to schedule non-emergent transports Verify patient insurance/benefits Verify that correct paperwork has been submitted and uploaded into CAD software KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Detail-oriented Excellent time management skills Accurate and efficient data entry skills Ability to use a variety of office equipment and EMS CAD system software Ability to remain calm during stressful situations Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak clearly Ability to present a caring and professional image over the telephone Ability to interact with others in a positive, cooperative and professional manner WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The schedule will be three 14-hours days per week: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Shift hours will be 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which may include holidays. Occasional overtime may be needed. This position includes sedentary work with prolonged periods of sitting. Must be able to bend, reach, sit or stand at assigned dispatch station during 14-hour shifts. MEMS is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
