Job Description :
Essential Functions
  • Assistswith set-up for daily production schedule.
  • Requestsproduction personnel as needed.
  • Trains machine operators.
  • Conducts monthly safety meetings.
  • Responsible for implementationof programs and procedures to maximize production, minimize waste, increase capacityand efficiencies, and maintainproduct quality and integrity.
  • Address Sanitation and GMP deviations on an immediate and ongoing basis and assistsin the training and development of production personnel in these key areas.
  • Assists with Quality Control programs to assure product quality.
  • Ensures adherence to procedures and policies, including SQF and GMP requirements.
  • Reviews/verify production and operating reports daily.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply withcompany, government, and customer specifications, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Responsible for attending and participatingin assigned training sessions related to safety, GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and SQF; applying and demonstratingobtained knowledge and following all procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for keeping work area safe and clean.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines for job performed
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervision as needed.
Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities
  • Comply withall Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Conducts all verification activities to assure finished product comply quality specifications.
  • Ensures subordinates are trained in SQF requirements applicable to their job function.
Management & Supervisory
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexibleand innovative approach to operation management.
  • Analytical and decisive decision maker with the ability to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong ability to lead, plan, and manage change and culture.
  • Experience with equipment and facility planning and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills (both oral and written) and listening ability.
  • Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong relationship building and management skills.
  • Have effective interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Able to present and support effective training programs.
  • Experienced in HACCP system, SQF, SQF Practitioner training a plus.
  • Must be able to manage department activities for planning, budgeting, business requirements, including vendors for supplies and services.
