MOBILE CRISIS Day Shift: 12:00pm-8:30pm ROTATING WEEKENDS The Department of Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services for those with mental health needs. We operate two community mobile crisis teams as part of our comprehensive emergency psychiatric services. Our team provides care to patients who are either unable or unwilling to receive continuing outpatient psychiatric services. The Mobile Crisis team, comprised of a coordinator, certified social worker, and psychiatrist, visits the homes of both recently discharged patients, as well as newly referred patients seven days a week. The purpose of the Mobile Crisis Team is to perform initial screenings or ongoing assessment and stabilization. We currently have full-time Day shift opportunities for Outreach Community Coordinators / Drivers to join our Mobile Crisis team. Selected candidates will l directly report to the Program Coordinator and/or Medical Director of the Psychiatry Mobile Crisis Unit. Operating Mobile vehicles to transport individuals.
Requirements - Must have a clean NYS Driver's License record.( No points, hits, restrictions. No Exceptions.)
- Must have a minimum High School degree or General Equivalency Diploma.
- Must be able to perform computer data entry-related functions.
- Previous experience or interest/desire to work with mental health populations
- Excellent oral and written communication
