- Assemble, install, maintain and pressure test all pipes and fittings.
- Join pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent and caulks joints.
- Bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending by hand.
- Fill pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
- Install irrigation of metal and PVC pipe for sprinkler systems.
- Inspect area irrigated to ensure adequate soaking and prevent waste of water.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
Safety
- Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor.
