JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Purpose: Function as a school administrator by directing, supervising, and managing the instructional program and supervising operations at the campus level. Direct the implementation of district policies and instructional programs and manage the operation of all campus activities for the absent administrator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Management
* Monitor instructional and managerial processes in the administrator's absence.
* Communicate and promote the expectation for high level performance from staff and students; recognize excellence and achievement.
* Facilitate effective and timely resolution of conflict.
* Work with faculty and students to implement the school's student management system to maintain an orderly school environment.
Student Growth and Development
* Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Serve as a role model for all campus staff.
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
* Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required.
* Manage the use of school facilities. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.
* Ensure that staff are implementing classroom environments that are conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
* Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed, and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Handbook.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Leave notes or complete the approved substitute report form at the end of the workday.
* Report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate administrator.
Communication
* Communicate in a friendly, positive, and professional manner towards students, parents, and staff.
Professional Growth and Development
* Participate in substitute training and activities to improve job-related skills.
* Comply with all state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Other
* Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Direct the work of campus personnel
* Supervise students
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Experience:
* Experience working as a principal or assistant principal in a public-school setting preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
* Master's degree
* Texas Mid Management/Principal certification or other appropriate Texas certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
* Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
* Ability to manage and direct student and staff behavior
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Punctuality and dependability
