Central Scheduling is a trained technical employee. The duties of the job include scheduling all procedures and treatments for a population ranging from newborn to the geriatric patient. There will be effective interaction with physicians and their office staff, the general public and the hospital departments in the scheduling of procedures.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent Required
Two years of college Preferred
Clinical background and medical terminology required.
Required Skills
* Must be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in a courteous manner via telephone to physician's offices, with the public and interdepartmentally.
* Must be able to perform long range reasoning and projecting time frames required with scheduling.
* Demonstrate the ability of learning and applying the intricacy of scheduling multi-department procedures within pre-established department guidelines.
* Demonstrate the ability to continuously update departments of changes in scheduling as they occur.
* Schedule proper order of procedures for maximum utilization of equipment and specialty personnel.
