Senior Staff AccountantLocation: Columbia, MD, 21044Skills: Senior Staff Accounting, Reconciliation, Quick Books, Vendor Relations, Margin EdgeWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior staff accounting, reconciliation, Quick Books, vendor relations, and Margin Edge.Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
- Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls
- Prepare and review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries
- Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
- Work closely with the management team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision making
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and other external parties
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in senior staff accounting
- Strong knowledge of Quick Books and Margin Edge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
