The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating the scheduling and dispatching of our team of technicians to various job sites for the installation and servicing of commercial garage doors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Dispatching: - Efficiently schedule and dispatch service technicians to job sites for commercial garage door installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Prioritize and allocate resources based on urgency, customer requirements, and technician availability.
- Maintain a real-time understanding of job statuses and technician locations.
Communication: - Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and technicians.
- Communicate with customers to confirm appointments, provide updates on technician arrival times, and address any concerns or questions.
Job Coordination: - Coordinate with the sales team to ensure accurate information is provided regarding job requirements and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure that necessary equipment and materials are available for scheduled jobs.
Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate records of job details, technician schedules, and customer interactions.
- Generate and update reports on job progress, technician performance, and overall department efficiency.
Problem Resolution: - Address and resolve scheduling conflicts, technician delays, and other issues that may arise during the course of a job.
- Work proactively to prevent and mitigate potential challenges in the dispatching process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in business administration or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a dispatching or scheduling role, preferably in a field service environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using dispatching software and other relevant tools.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with commercial garage doors or related industry experience is advantageous.
