The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Mail Center Clerk to join our team. This 20-hour per week position involves managing daily mail operations and providing excellent service to our campus community. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of handling a variety of tasks efficiently.

Compensation: $10/h - $14/h

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages accurately.
  • Manage and maintain mailroom supplies and equipment.
  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with mail-related inquiries and services.
  • Prepare and process outgoing mail, including special deliveries and bulk mailing.
  • Maintain accurate records of mail and packages received and dispatched.
  • Ensure compliance with postal regulations and university policies.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a mailroom or customer service environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Basic proficiency with office equipment and computer applications.

Work Schedule:

  • This position requires working 20 hours per week.
  • Daily shifts are 4 hours long, scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday availability is required.
  • Ability to cover absence hours of the Mail Center Supervisor
Job Summary

Collects, sorts, processes, and distributes incoming mail and prepares, bags, and processes outgoing mail according to all applicable postal regulations and utilizing various types of mailing equipment and related software. Offers excellent customer service and assistance.

Essential Functions

The essential function of this position is to provide convenient and efficient mail services to faculty, staff, students and others as requested

Physical Effort

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time. Also requires frequent bending, twisting and reaching. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb stairs. The employee must be able to lift 10- 20 lbs. numerous times each day and up to 50 lbs. once a day. Must be able to push and pull up to 75 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, and the ability to focus. May require overtime
