Job Title: Project SchedulerLocation: Northern New Jersey (NNJ) Overview: Our client, a leading construction management firm in Northern New Jersey, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Scheduler to support their project managers and construction operations teams. In this role, you will play a key part in achieving business goals by developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules throughout various milestones. You will collaborate closely with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of multiple construction projects. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with preconstruction managers, project managers, engineers, superintendents, contractors, and other project services staff to create detailed project schedules, from conceptual planning through construction completion.
- Develop resource- and cost-loaded schedules, identifying key activities, major milestones, long-lead procurement items, and other critical project deliverables.
- Establish realistic schedule logic, constraints, and activity durations, while accounting for available resources.
- Assess the impact of design changes, schedule slippages, and any necessary adjustments, and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates.
- Utilize knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to build and maintain critical path logic networks.
- Accumulate and analyze historical data for future project planning and forecasting.
- Provide guidance and support in resolving complex project control challenges.
- Interface with clients, attend regular project meetings, and present statistical reports on schedule performance.
- Travel to project sites and other offices as needed to participate in meetings, assess project progress, and update schedules to reflect completed work.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in large commercial or industrial construction projects.
- At least 3 years of direct scheduling experience with demonstrated success in critical path management, schedule compression, and mitigation strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex scheduling data to diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in construction engineering technology, codes, and standards, and a comprehensive understanding of the interdependence of functional units.
- Expertise with construction scheduling software, including P6, Primavera, and Procore.
- Knowledge of cost control methods for various project types, including EPC, Construction Management, Design Build, Time & Material, and Maintenance contracts.
