The College of Arts and Sciences at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) seeks a Laboratory Supervisor for the Physics Department, located at the New York City campus.

The physics department started offering the BS degree in physics in the fall semester of 2024. The position is created to lead an effort of establishing modern physics labs for the new major program.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the physics lab, supervise lab instructors for safety on both Long Island and New York City campuses.

Lead the effort of establishing the modern physics labs and other upper division physics experiments.

Work with faculty members to modernize the physics labs at all levels.

In charge of preparing budgets and purchase orders for physics labs.

The position reports to the chairperson of physics department.

Qualifications

A Bachelors' degree in Physics and experience with modern physics lab is required.

MS in Physics preferred.

Working experience in physics is required
