The successful candidate will be someone who loves Indirect Procurement and Operations, gets excited about problem solving with various cross functional teams, and is passionate about building relationships.The Assistant Manager, Indirect Procurement will be key in partnering with our regional stakeholders and departments to support the day-to-day procurement activities across the business first focusing on Visual Merchandising for our NA Retailers. This role will also expand into other Indirect Procurement categories as needed so strong stakeholder management, supplier management, and negotiation skills are critical. This dynamic individual will be responsible for leading a variety of tactical and strategic tasks including issuing RFPs/RFQs, data collection and analysis; cost saving ideas; supplier management; contract management, and providing any additional procurement support to the broader teams.This role is a unique opportunity to join a new team chartered with developing the foundation and future of Indirect Procurement at Sol de Janeiro.Overall responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify and prequalify potential supply partners to meet the company's needs.
- Manage the RFQ & RFP process suppliers and maintain supplier information and quotes.
- Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communication.
- Support opportunities for cost savings initiatives with internal and external stakeholders, aligned with business objectives.
- Engage and work closely with cross-functional teams for RFPs and RFQs to assure timely and efficient execution of projects.
- Support the enhancement of procurement processes, systems, and practices to achieve greater efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence.
- Support in negotiation on pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers that adhere to Sol's procurement policies and standards and meet the end user requirements, focused on costs, leveraging buying power, and scenario modeling, for assigned projects.
Job Requirements Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3-5+ years of procurement experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Some technical understanding of Procurement and end-to-end Supply Chain Operations.
- Skills in relationship building and supplier relationship management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to work independently.
- Effective problem solving and project management skills.
- Organized and keen on details and accuracy.
- Ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to occasionally travel for supplier visits, up to ~5%.
- Beauty industry or Consumer Packaged Goods experience preferred.
- Experience with VM and/or POSM preferred, not required
- Experience with SAP experience preferred, not required.
- CPSM, CPM, CSP, or Six Sigma certifications.
- Must be able to work a hybrid schedule (1X per week in our NYC Office).
