Master's prepared Social Services DirectorPOSITION SUMMARY:The Master's prepared Social Services Director participates as an integral professional member of a multi-disciplinary team, implementing and assisting in the supervision of social service interventions to patients. The Social Services Director demonstrates understanding and interpretation of facility policies to ensure that policies are adhered to. Social Service Director will conduct therapy groups according to daily program schedule. Group content will be selected according to the current population to promote most effective therapeutic services are being delivered. Provider will complete assessments, communicate with family members, complete treatment plans, and participate in staffing with treatment team as needed. Furthermore, the Social Service Director will demonstrate a strong knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, and developmental, social and behavioral. Additional duties include, performs crisis intervention, special case conferences, and communication to outside agencies to ensure that the patient rights, care, and needs are met.WORKING CONDITONS:Work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work requires spending approximately 75% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.The employee must provide documentation of a tuberculosis test during new-hire orientation and annually thereafter.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for moderate periods, standing could be as high as 60-80% per working shift per day. Must be able to sit for extended periods, at least 4 hours. A certain amount of walking and standing are often necessary to carry out job Lifting/carrying may exceed 10 pounds.
- Additional work environment characteristics may include performing repetitive tasks/motion, and hearing alarms, telephone, and normal speaking voice. Stress is identified as a job hazard resulting from a hectic environment with frequent interruptions. The environment alone presents a certain amount of risk servicing psychiatric patients in acute and crisis needs
