F/B - Catering Server Job Details Level Entry Job Location City Museum - Saint Louis, MO Position Type Seasonal Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Job Shift Any Job Category Food Services Summary and Job Functions **Summary:** The City Museum is seeking energetic, fun, responsible and service-orientated applicants for seasonal employment opportunities in the catering department. The Catering Server is responsible for delivering, set up and food service for special and private events. This position sets up and serves at functions; cleans event area during and after events; breaks down the setup and leaves the area neat and clean; returns leftover food and equipment to the catering area in a timely manner. The catering server also engages guest and team members in a courteous manner and promptly responds to requests.
**Essential Job Functions**
Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.
Arranges buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to standards.
Stocks, cleans, and maintains catering facility and equipment.
Ensures guests receive friendly, courteous service always.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of complete menu and products on hand.
Always follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures.
Adheres to City Museum safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation.
Ensures security of company assets.
Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of the City Museum.
Qualifications **Minimum Requirements:**
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Previous experience as a server.
Familiarity of basic food safety and sanitation procedures.
Able to take direction and work independently when applicable.
Must be 18 years of age and ABC Certified.
**Preferred Education and Experience:**
Previous serving experience in an entertainment venue.
Prior customer service experience.
**Competencies**
Ability to complete basic math.
Knowledge of basic service standards.
Excellent time Management.

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:** This is a seasonal position averaging 15 30 hours per week depending on the season, which regularly requires evening, weekend, and holiday work. Candidates must have a flexible schedule.
**Work Environment:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in culinary venues and is exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures. The employee is frequently exposed to raw meats, fruits and vegetables. The employee is also occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud while in the museum.
**Physical Demands:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
