Quanex is looking for a Plant Manager to join our team in our Jackson, Georgia manufacturing plant.

This position is accountable for leading a team that meets or exceeds customer, productivity, quality and financial goals. With the ultimate responsibility for the P&L of this location, the Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations and maintenance. This position supports company/division initiatives and balances strategic planning with day-to-day operational excellence. The Plant Manager is expected to establish and inspire a culture that embraces safety, teamwork, inclusion, accountability, employee development and open communication in a manner that positively impacts our employees, customers, community and key performance metrics.

What success Looks Like:

Strategic and Operational Planning and Execution

* Establish and communicate a vision for the plant that motivates employees and connects to corporate/divisional strategies.

* Lead the annual operating planning process for the plant.

* Direct and manage key operational functions including production, maintenance, shipping and receiving, quality and manufacturing engineering.

* Develop/monitor plant and cell metrics that drive safety, quality and financial goals.

* Develop and manage inventory levels that will support divisional sales service objectives. Control and administer all inventories to achieve proper turns as defined by management.

* Supervise the development of weekly production planning forecasts based on historical data, customer input, and information from the operations leadership and sales.

* Create the overall strategy for the plant including a long-range capital plan and roadmap to execute.

Customer Service and Quality Assurance

* Facilitate a culture that enhances customer service and quality assurance.

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal partners.

* Assure all production orders are completed on schedule, per budget, and at the quality levels developed by divisional management to satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers.

* Coordinate quality standards and problem resolution with our customers through personal contact.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

* Develop and champion an overall continuous improvement and innovation philosophy for the plant.

* Proactively seek opportunities to streamline processes and/or savings opportunities. Utilize tools and processes to create a lean environment across the plant.

* Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions as needed.

* Propose and champion long-range capital projects which assure the plant is prepared for future customer demands and provide an appropriate return on our investment. Plan and oversee the design and progress of approved capital projects.

* Partner with the engineering department and all related functions on the implementation of new and improved manufacturing technology, lean manufacturing and industrial engineering.

Environmental, Health and Safety

* Establish and communication an overall environmental, health and safety strategy for the plant.

* Ensure the plant is safe, clean and environmentally compliant and cultivates a culture of safety and accountability.

* Identify and address/correct unsafe actions or conditions immediately.

* Serves as a safety advocate and communicates Quanex's Cardinal Safety Rules to all employees in a matter that reinforces our belief that safety is everyone's responsibility, and accidents are preventable.

What you Bring:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a business-related field. Experience in lieu of education.

* Ten or more years of progressive Manufacturing experience and a minimum of five years in a leadership role.

* Experience in working within fast paced, complex, dynamic business environment.

The salary range for this position is $115k - $130K with the potential to earn an annual bonus.
