Job Overview: We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Resort Manager to lead Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of extensive resort management experience, including a strong background in luxury resorts and rooms division management. This role requires a dedicated leader with a passion for excellence and a commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resort Operations:
    • Oversee daily resort operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments.
    • Ensure all departments work cohesively to provide a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
    • Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Provide a luxurious and personalized guest experience that reflects the standards of Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa.
    • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Continuously monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, train, and manage a skilled team, including department heads and front-line staff.
    • Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, development, and employee engagement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and offer guidance to support staff growth and performance.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the resorts budget, including revenue forecasting, expense control, and financial reporting.
    • Analyze financial performance metrics such as occupancy rates and average daily rates to drive profitability.
    • Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Marketing and Sales:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement effective promotional strategies and campaigns.
    • Build and maintain relationships with travel agents, corporate clients, and other key stakeholders.
    • Assess market trends and adjust strategies to optimize occupancy and revenue.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the resort.
    • Oversee emergency response procedures and conduct staff training.
  • Vendor and Community Relations:
    • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and oversight.
    • Engage with local businesses and community organizations to enhance the resorts presence and reputation.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in resort management, with a strong background in luxury resorts.
    • Extensive experience in rooms division management, including roles such as Director of Rooms or similar.
    • Proven track record of achieving high standards of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
    • Proficiency with resort management software and systems.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
