The Bowery Mission (TBM) is a holistic, Christian faith-based organization committed since the 1870's to serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger and poverty. The organization's Human Resources department is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join in supporting 130+ staff members across locations throughout NY and PA.As a key member of the HR Team, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide administrative and project support to the organization's ongoing efforts to better recruit, hire, develop, and support our staff as they seek to fulfill TBM's calling to serve people experiencing homelessness.The Coordinator will be depended upon to handle confidential information and demonstrate sound judgement. He/she will be responsible for a wide-variety of administrative tasks in support of the organization's hiring, training, and employee engagement initiatives. The individual will be responsible for maintaining records and providing administrative support to the entire Human Resources Team.Reports to: Chief Human Resources OfficerLocation: Hybrid (In office and remote)Key Responsibilities:Recruitment
  • Post positions across various recruitment sites, provide research and recommendations on potential applicant sources, and help communication between candidates and screening vendor
  • Schedules candidate interviews for hiring managers
Training & Event Support
  • Support a wide variety of employee trainings and meetings (event logistics, maintaining training records, and more)
  • Partner with teams across the organization to identify and meet training needs
  • Administer the organization's LinkedIn Learning system
Onboarding & Offboarding
  • Initiate new hire onboarding and work with hiring managers to ensure successful onboarding
  • Handle all new hires receive paperwork and processes in a timely manner
  • Handle all administrative tasks for departing employees to ensure employees are properly offboarded
  • Support the onboarding process of 60+ seasonal hires to Mont Lawn Summer Camp
Administrative Tasks & Projects:
  • Handle a variety of administrative tasks supporting the HR Team, including maintaining HR email inbox
  • Support a wide-variety of all-staff events and communications including preparing presentation materials, coordinating schedules, and sending calendar invites
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer, including expense reporting, scheduling meetings, etc.
Requirements:
  • Embrace the organization's Statement of Faith
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Passion for learning and growing within the Human Resources field.
  • At least 2 years of Human Resources experience
  • Proven communication skills, especially written, and utmost professionalism in presentations, email, and phone
  • Collaborative work-style - thinks we instead of mine or yours
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems and recommending solutions
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and priorities with a flexible approach as business needs change
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in matters of confidentiality - known for exercising sound judgement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
  • Experience working with HRIS and ATS platforms
  • Prior non-profit experience
  • Prior administrative experience in a Human Resources role
