Job Description :

Temporary Material Handler 24.25/hr M-F 6a-2p Temporary Assignment We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will operate powered Lift Truck equipment to load, unload, and move products, materials, and equipment in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring World Class results in Quality, Safety, Customer Service, and Cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in taking inventory and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Transport unfinished and finished products throughout the plant and supply production lines with raw materials.
  • Ensure appropriate disposal of waste, including trash, recycling, and creating bales of material.
  • Unload trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, moving merchandise to designated areas.
  • Load finished goods from the production area to trailers for shipment.
  • Relocate materials within the warehouse and move necessary components from storage to production as needed.
  • Prepare and fill out documentation for receiving, shipping, and production tallies.
  • Regularly operate personal computers, barcode scanners, and other necessary equipment.
  • Move pallets on and off trailers, racks, and other locations using site equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards in the department.
  • Follow all applicable waste and scrap reduction, recycling guidelines.
  • Adhere to the daily production schedule and prioritize job duties.

Technical & Operational Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, and material handling.
  • Experience with barcode equipment for inventory management.
  • Ability to operate hand or power-driven trucks and other equipment as needed.
  • Familiarity with quality standards, GMP, and cleaning guidelines.
  • Hazardous Waste Operation (HAZWOPER) training and certification may be required (provided by the company).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on food safety.
  • General computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Self-motivated and able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately.
  • Neat and timely documentation skills.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs and standing for 10 hours or more daily.

Quality Assurance:

  • Understand and adhere to all Quality, GMP, and cleaning standards.
  • Follow work instructions and ensure compliance with the Quality Control Plan and related SOPs.
  • Perform statistical process control charting and take corrective actions as necessary.

Teamwork:

  • Train new hires and temporary staff as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented work environment.

Safety Requirements:

  • Required to wear hard hats, hair/beard nets, gowns, plant-approved boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Additional safety equipment may be required as needed.

Work Environment:

  • The position is in a manufacturing environment with typical physical demands, including frequent visual effort, concentration, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Regular standing and movement throughout the plant is required.
